PILOT DISPATCH
24/7 DISPATCH — 401-847-9050
- Pilot orders can only be placed by phone. Pay special attention to pilot order requirements.
- Online forms and email are not accepted for official pilot requests.
Dispatch should be contacted for:
- Ordering a pilot
- Scheduling arrivals or departures
- Confirming boarding locations and times
- Changes to ETA, draft, or voyage details
For time-sensitive or operational matters, call Dispatch directly.

VHF RADIO COMMUNICATIONS
VHF radio communications are used only in proximity to scheduled POB and are not a substitute for dispatch coordination.
Pilot boats monitor VHF channels 10, 13, and 16 approximately 1 to 2 hours before boarding. Pilots must be ordered via phone at least 24 hours before boarding.
After a pilot order has already been placed and confirmed through Dispatch, VHF radio contact may be used approximately 1 to 2 hours before a scheduled Pilot On Board (POB) to coordinate final approach, boarding arrangements, or real-time adjustments near the boarding area.
When instructed or appropriate to do so, vessels may hail “Northeast Marine Pilots” on the designated VHF working channel 10.
Vessels must provide the vessel name, Position, and ETA at the pilot station.
